Since the establishment of the company more than sixty (60) laboratories have been assisted with either implementation of ISO 17025:2005, management of quality systems, internal audits as well as training and coaching in the following areas: Internal auditing, Microbiology method validation, Root cause analysis, Practical Microbiology, ISO 17025:2005 Quality Management Systems. Assistance with documentation of Quality Manuals, procedures (technical and management), method procedures and record sheets also formed part of the services that was delivered during this period.
The first microbiology practical training course for food and water was presented at the newly established National Laboratory Association (NLA) laboratory. This course is still presented on an annual basis as well as in-house when required. The training course covers all practical aspects from sampling to interpretation of results as well as quality control and accreditation requirements. The following contract was secured: POHL Consulting & Associates (Germany) Support to SADC Member States in Standardisation, Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Metrology (SQAM Project). The companywas responsible for the provision of technical expertise to SADC Secretariat (EuropeAid Short Term Assignment) in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
ISO-LAB Consulting was established with the aim to assist laboratories with implementation of Quality Managements Systems (ISO/IEC 17025) to enable them to obtain accreditation.
